"I accidentally made a right turn against a sign and when I was pulled over got four more tickets because I wasn't wearing my seat belt and didn't have my licence and registration with me and hadn't changed my address yet. The cop was smiling as he gave me all the tickets. I was really mad because it was obvious overkill. After talking with Larry from Traffic Ticket Guru I went to the court office and negotiated the stay of four of the minor tickets, plead guilty to the turn and provided an explanation and received a reprimand with no court costs. "I was ticketed by a photo radar van coming into Winnipeg. It was a construction zone with no workers so I was doing the speed limit of 80kph. The ticket said it was a 60 kph zone. After going to Traffic Ticket Guru I was ready to fight it in court but then the charge was stayed because the City was illegally ticketing vehicle when there were no workers present. had I just paid like so many other people then I would be out my money because all the people that plead guilty did not get refunds from the Government. Geez, I was so nervous but I read what you gave me to the judge -
the crown objected saying that it is normal practice to only send out the
court documents a couple weeks prior to the court case - the crown said a couple weeks is sufficient notice for a trial of this nature. The crown also was unsure of who this "professional' was that helping me so the judge asked me as to the nature of the 'professional' -
I told him that I'm disputing the charge based on the sign that was posted and
I didn't know how to obtain proof of this so the professional was helping me -
the judge said "oh, that must be about the "Max 60 when passing workers sign" and I said yes.
The officer who placed the photo radar trap was present in the room.
My new court date is for May 7th 10am
