We here at Trafficticketguru.com were aware of it at least two weeks before it happened and that the Crown Attorney's were trying to persuade people at court to plead guilty because they were going to appeal the decision and it would save the Accuseds the inconvenience of coming back to Court. Surely an upcoming decision that could effect hundreds, if not thousands of Photo Radar Tickets in Winnipeg and result in Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars in refunds would have had been mentioned to someone at City Hall? Wouldn't it be important enough for the Mayor to know about it so as not to be embarrassed because he didn't? It was brought to our attention by a colleague who went to his court date and witnessed the Crown trying to get a gentleman to plead guilty. The man in question of course said Not Guilty! Which leads me to believe there have been many complaints to City Hall as well. This hasn't been the first time the Mayor has been unaware of problems with the photo radar program. On November 16, 2005 The Mayor was also unaware his Lexis had been driven through a Red Light by his now former wife. The Reason he was Unaware? The Ticket was Never Issued! As luck would have it a substantial number of tickets that week in November were never issued because the machine that prints the officer's signature broke down. Instead of having a live officer review and sign each photo, the tickets were dropped.
